Company Profile – History/Bio

Able Steel Fabricators, Inc. has been family owned and operated since its inception. Charles “Chuck” Clark, Jr. and Charles “Jim” Clark Sr. started Able Welding in 1975 incorporating as Able Steel Fabricators in 1981. Since 1975, the business philosophy of Able Steel Fabricators, Inc. has been we are “Able to do your job”.

Like many from the ground up businesses, Able Steel’s initial projects were smaller in size. Small commercial buildings, grain storage facilities and mini-storage warehouses were the types of projects that Able Steel fabricated and erected during the seventies. In the early eighties Chuck and Jim acquired Able Steel’s current ten acre facility in Mesa AZ.

Over the years the projects have continued to grow in size, number, and complexity, driven by Chuck Clark’s vision to be “the best damn steel construction company in the southwest.”

Today, Able Steel Fabricators, Inc. is one of the leading structural and miscellaneous steel subcontractors in the Southwest.
